TROOPERS LONDON.
Herewith repetition of my C. 2695 of 18th instant which was in Govt.
telegraph code.
BEGINS.
Your 01733 FH of 19th February para. 1 (D).
would strongly urge that payments under any agreement with Electricity
Dock or Godown Companies should be specially excluded from operation this clause.
Considerable sun will be due to Electricity Companies in respect of rental for
military period and this would probably have been settled before 31st March but
for unsatisfactory mail service (my 2494 8th March) claims will also be received
from Docks in respect of damage through over-loading wharves which should normally
have been closed at outset pending repair of damage from bombs and demolition
charges.
As wharves in question were almost exclusively used by Services it
would not be equitable that such charges chould fall on Civil Govt.
(See my CA. 2851 of 23rd March).
